Kaktus coffee & booze

What a gem! I had coffee and vegan toast here on my first day in Malta. The atmosphere is really chill and the owner is super kind and sweet. If you're in Sliema during day or night definitely come here and have a drink and/or a bite.

I had the pleasure of visiting Kaktus Malta this morning and it was a truly nice place. When I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and kindness by Myrka, who was taking care of the place. She immediately welcomed me with her very polite manners, sweet smile and very positive energy, the type of service that makes a café visit memorable. The interior of Kaktus Malta is charming, colourful and relaxed, with its cactus wall art, wooden seating and cosy corner spots by the window, which give it a friendly neighbourhood feel. Outside, the bright green doors and pride flag create a cheerful and inclusive first impression. I ordered a rich chocolate dessert (Turkish Dessert) topped with crunchy walnuts, which was both indulgent and satisfying, paired with a smooth, well-prepared with a double espresso. Both were served quickly and with a smile, making the experience even more enjoyable. The menu offers a good variety, including vegan options, toasts, salads and desserts, with something to suit most tastes. I also noticed their game night advertised for Wednesdays, which seems like a fun way to enjoy the space in the evenings. Overall, Kaktus Malta is more than just a café, it has great food and coffee, but also a welcoming spirit. Special thanks to Myrka, whose attentiveness and warmth added an extra layer of hospitality. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxed and positive spot in Malta.

My partner found the Kaktus coffee shop just around the corner from out hotel. Walking past we saw the owner sat in the giant window enjoying coffee with a customer. At that moment I knew this was a place to go and even be! Once inside, I couldn't help but be amazed at the flyers, messages and vibe. My camera phone was out! The food and coffee was great with everything being veggie and vegan. If I was in Malta, it would be a place to start a night out for sure and I can imagine the amazing community which will be there too. A must visit, drink and chill!

First day in Malta and went to this bar. After reading the reviews my expectations were high but I didn't expect them to be blown away! Bartender was very nice and the bar itself had great and well priced drinks all while being very cozy. Will definitely come here again in the coming days of my trip!

Cool place with great service. Would really recommend their matcha. The girl who works there is lovely and is very attentive. She basically ran the place by herself.

Kaktus is hands down one of the most welcoming and inclusive spots you’ll find in Malta! It’s a gay-friendly space where everyone is treated with respect—absolutely no discrimination of any kind. The atmosphere is always full of good vibes, and it’s easy to strike up conversations and meet new people. The game nights are a great touch—they really bring the community together and make you feel at home. Whether you’re coming alone or with friends, you’ll leave feeling like part of a big, friendly family. Highly recommended! <3

What a truly wonderful place – from the very first moment you feel instantly welcome thanks to the warm and genuine hospitality of the hostess. On top of that, they offer an impressively extensive drinks menu, and I can’t recommend the fresh lemonade highly enough – it’s simply delightful! If you ever find yourself in Sliema, make sure to stop by. It’s the kind of spot that instantly puts a smile on your face and makes you want to linger just that little bit longer.
